Our staff and crew come from all over the world, in fact, our ship boasts having 38 nationalities working onboard. The majority of the crew comes from Indonesia and the Philippines, however, and every cruise these two groups of wonderful people take time out to put on a late night show for the guests sharing history, music and culture from their respective homelands. On one such occasion I was invited by a colleague from the Philippines to sing with him at the crew show. The gentleman singing with me, Ricky, is a violinist in the resident string quartet. He also plays the drums, piano, guitar and sings beautifully. As we decided to sing "Last Night of the World," from Miss Saigon, I particularly enjoyed the casting role reversal of an American 'girl' singing with an Asian 'boy'. It was an absolute joy sharing the stage with such talented and honorable people.
